At the heart of Weymouth town centre is the home of a multi million pound investement to bring the best in shopping to the town. Just a quick walk through the town shows that the dream has been realised, with shops like Debenhams, WHSmith, Woolworths and New Look.
Weymouth has a perfect mix of big name stores and more specialist local retailers. There are three main shopping streets with most of the larger chains on, but take a walk off these streets you will find a quaint mix of specialist shops, cafe's and bakeries. All this is under a minute from the beach, harbour and marina.
Five minutes walk from the town centre and you will find superstores from the likes of B&Q, Halfords, Currys and Matalan, as well as many more.
Whilst you're browsing all thees shops there are plenty of places for refreshments. There are many smaller cafe's along the esplanade if you want to enjoy your food with an amazing view. The town centre is home to yet more cafe's, but you could also try a pub lunch in one of the many extablishments in the town. As well as this, the town is home to many of the larger name restaurants, like McDonalds, KFC and Bella Pasta.
If you're spending a longer time in Weymouth & Portland there are many places to get all those essential items you will need. Tesco in the town centre of Weymouth is the easiest to get to, but for larger shopping trips you may want to try Asda or Safeway that are are a small distance from the town centre.
Although Portland doesn't have a large shopping area, Easton Square is a great place to experience some of the more local shops and get a feel for life in the town. You can also pick up many of the things you will need here.
You can find a list of shops in the borough by clicking here - This is currently only available with images, however I am working to make a text only version. Because this section of the site still uses images, it will open in a new window.
