Follow the M27 onto the A31 towards Ringwood. Stay on the A31 until it joins the A35 just past Poole. From there stay on the A35 and follow the signs towards Dorchester. When at Dorchester, follow the signs for Weymouth and the A354. Staying on this road will bring you into the town centre.
From Bridport, travel on the A35 towards Dorchester. At Dorchester, follow the signs for Weymouth and the A354. Staying on this road will bring you into the town centre.
From Bristol,
take the A37 towards Dorchester. At Dorchester, follow the signs for Weymouth
and the A354. Staying on this road will bring you into the town centre.
To travel onwards to Portland, from the A354 follow signs to Portland. You
will need to turn right at the roundabout with a Morrisons superstore on (Past
the Shell garage). Keep following the signs and you will end up there.
If you are already in Weymouth and want to head to Portland, the general rule is to keep heading south, you should find it or a sign eventually!
The train station is located approximately five minutes walk along the beach from the town centre.
From
the South and London
Weymouth is served hourly by trains from London Waterloo. This direct train
serves locations like Southampton, Winchester, Poole, Bournemouth and Dorchester.
Connections can also be made to many UK cities, including Portsmouth, Brighton
and Reading.
Money Saving Tip: If you are travelling between London
Waterloo and Weymouth, you may be able to travel from only £1 by booking
your tickets online from megatrain.com.
This is a service that South West Trains are trialling to increase the amount
of people travelling on trains.
From
Wales, The North and The Westcountry
First Great Western run services to Bristol Temple Meads, via towns like Yeovil
and Bath. This service is currently irregular, however this should be improved
in early 2007.
If you are travelling from the Westcountry, Take a train to Yeovil Junction,
then travel by bus to Yeovil Pen Mill where you will take the train to Weymouth.
From Wales, take a train from Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads where
you will join the service to Weymouth.
From the North, you can either connect with trains through Bristol, or take
the Cross Country trains to Bournemouth, where you change for another train
to Weymouth.

National
Express operate a good coach service to and from Weymouth's Seafront. Services
run to London Victoria, Portsmouth, Manchester, Brighton, Southampton, Bristol
with connections to other routes from those towns, including services to Heathrow.
You can also connect onto their international service, Eurolines.
First operate a service that travels between Exeter and Bournemouth every two
hours, stopping at many locations on the Jurassic Coast.

Ferry services
from France and the Channel Islands operate into Weymouth. These services only
run once daily, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night. Passengers
from France may have to change in Jersey. The ferry terminal is approximately
five minutes from the town centre. This service is provided by Condor Ferries.
There are further ferry services from the continent to nearby Poole, which is
about an hours drive away. These services are provided by Brittany Ferries.

The nearest airport to Weymouth it Bournemouth Airport. From Bournemouth, regular busses operate, as well as a fleet of taxis. Southampton Airport is also nearby, offering services to the Channel Islands, Continental Europe and the rest of the UK. There is a train station outside the airport which is served by direct trains from Weymouth.
There are
two bus companies operating in the borough. The largest is First. They offer
all day travel in Weymouth for approximately £2.00, and travel in Weymouth,
Portland and Dorchester for a day for £3.00. Just ask for a day ticket
when you get on the bus. First runs many low-floor busses with disabled seating.
These are primarily on Weymouth to Portland Route 1, Weymouth to Littlemoor
Route 2 and Weymouth to Hereford Road Route 3.
Sureline also operate services between Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester, as
well as some services within the borough. The fares are slightly cheaper than
that of First. Look out for the blue busses.
There are
many taxi operators in the area. Although they can be a little expensive, between
a group of you it can be cheaper than using the bus. The biggest operators are:
